About Jennifer

Hello…I’m Heather!

I’m just a clumsy girl who likes to play with scissors, hot glue and sharp pins and needles. It’s a dangerous combination, but so far so good.

I learned how to sew when I was about 7 years old and my grandmother helped me make a skirt and top to wear for Valentine’s Day. A few years later she helped me sew skating dresses to wear Saturdays at the local rink. In later years I started cross stitching and made several pieces over the course of my middle school and high school years. I remember one very difficult piece that I finished in a couple of days while babysitting. I have woven baskets (I wish I still had them all – at least I have 1 of them), I’ve made gifts for friends and family, I’ve attempted both crocheting and knitting without much success, but maybe some day I’ll give it another try. And goodness knows I’ve attempted many other crafts through the years. I have always been the type to see something and think “I can make that” instead of buy it. More than once, however, I would have been better off buying it. You know the saying “Why buy it for $10 when you can pay $92 for supplies and make it yourself.”

GeminiRed Creations (GRC) started as a hobby which slowly grew into a small business. Many of the items in my shop are the result or seeing something online or having a friend ask if I can make it – I’m always willing to try!

In 2017 I was laid off from my full-time job and launched my other business – GeminiRed Virtual Services (GRVS). GRVS allows me to follow my passion of working with and supporting small businesses. I have a few steady clients and also went back to work part-time in 2018 for the company I used to work for, helping to support a large project within the company. My ultimate goal would be for GRVS to be my main income one day and GRC to remain a way to earn extra money using my creativity.

I use the income generated from both GRC and GRVS to give back to my community in the form of goods or monetary donations throughout the year. Due to family history most monetary donations are made to Crohn’s and Colitis Foudation, American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. I also donate to local animal rescues such as Bosley’s Place and Snap 2 It because of my love of dogs and cats.

Thank you for helping me make a difference, in my life and the lives of others!!

Thank you for supporting my dream.
