My super funny friend, Heather A has 3 young boys and this is the perfect Valentine decoration to hang up in the house to celebrate the loves of her life!  If you don’t mind messes, I’m sure you could get your kids to help with the painting!

Candy Heart (1) v2

I LOVE making holiday decorations for our home! I saw this idea at a friend’s house and had to make one! I wanted it to really look like the Conversation Candy Hearts (my favorite Valentine candy!) with a couple cute sayings you’d see on the candies and my kids names. People regularly do with just their kid’s names and I think that is cute too! This was a really quick and easy craft, check it out…

Supplies

  • Wooden hearts for however many kids and sayings you want – I found at Hobby Lobby, but I’m sure Michael’s, JoAnn’s or any other craft store would have!
  • Acrylic paint in candy colors – I went with yellow, purple, pink, green and orange.
  • Sponge brushes
  • Dark pink Vinyl  to cut out names/saying with a craft cutter (Silhouette Cameo) or a pen to write it.
  • Ribbon to hang it
  • Staple gun & staples

Let’s do this!!
Candy Heart (2)
Paint the hearts, do a couple coats to make sure you got good coverage and didn’t miss a spot!
Candy Heart (3)
Let them dry for a couple hours at least cause the vinyl won’t stick to them!

Candy Heart (4)
Put on vinyl or write on what you want with paint pen, sharpie or whatever you got!  If you have a Silhouette Cameo you can easily cut all the names / words out at one time.
Candy Heart (5)

Staple the ribbon onto the back of the hearts with equal lengths between each heart, I just eyeballed it!
Candy Heart (6)
Give each section of ribbon a good amount of staples to keep it there well!
Candy Heart (7)
Tie the Ribbon into a really tight bow and then staple the loose ends to the top heart.
Hang it up and VOILA!!
