It’s time for the July writing prompts from Crossroads Media Hub and I’m late…already!

So, here are the first five days of July…

1.  What is the best book you have read lately?

I stink at reading books lately. I have a lot of great intentions, and I download books for my Kindle iPad app and through iBooks, but then I don’t get very far because I have 400 other books to read and 4,000 other things to do. I’ve been reading Blog, Inc by Joy Deangdeelert Cho for what seems like forever. When I pick it up to read I love what I’m reading, but then I get distracted by my never ending “To Do” list. Check out this cute video talking about the book.

2.  What is the hardest thing you dealt with as a child?

At the time I thought it was my parents divorce. It seemed like the end of the world. I wanted them to get back together so badly, but that never happened. And as an adult I realized it was the best thing that ever happened! My parents both remarried amazing people who are exactly who they should be with!

3.  How old were you when you learned how to swim?

I don’t really remember. I remember swimming a lot as a kid. I feel like I was already a pretty good swimmer at 5, but maybe that’s because it’s the only memory that seems to be sticking with me about spending time in the water. I always loved to swim. I remember taking swimming lessons when we lived in Navy housing in Groton, CT and they had lessons available at North Lake on the base. Wow…that’s so long ago!

4.  Today is July 4th! In the US, It’s Independence Day… What are your plans?

No plans other than sleeping in late, catching the new Melissa McCarthy movie “Tammy” and then hanging out at the house in comfortable clothes!  Which usually equates to PJs.

5.  Today is National Apple Turnover Day, where have you gotten the BEST apple turnovers you have ever had?

You will have to call me un-American. I do not like apple pies or apple turnovers. Nope…not a fan at all!

I’m joining Crossroads Media Hub and some blogging friends of mine in the 31 Days of Writing Prompts – July 2014.  I am not promising a post every single day, but you never know.  There are some fun prompts on the list.  Want to join the fun?  Why don’t you!?  It’s the perfect way to get back into writing if you’ve been stuck for ideas, fun to read what others write about the same subject…and, well, just fun in general!
